Asus internal clashes could create a new brand?

Tweaktown got hold of a copy of Taiwanese mag Business Today which features a write-up on the internal power struggle battles between Asus Chair Johnny Shih and Tung Tsu Hsien who is the new boss of Pegatron, the OEM division of Asus.

The lengthy article outlines how Tung was forced out of the ASUS board and into his new position and claims he has a strong interest in brand business, especially in the growing China market. Tung allegedly has very strong support from his staff, many of whom were in the R&D and industrial design team at Asus and since followed him to Pegatron. While it is too early to tell, the rift, if it deepens, can possibly lead to Pegatron coming out with its own brand of computers, including netbooks.
