Has the Eee PC Been Approved by the FCC?

If the unconfirmed news regarding Asus releasing the Eee PC 701 in the USA and other countries between mid-September to early October are to be believed, shouldn’t Asus have everything required for the release squared away by this time? It is already September. So shouldn’t they already have the required FCC Class B certification, among others? Specially since the release has actually been delayed from August to September/October.

I just spent some time sleuthing around the FCC site but failed to see any listing for the Eee PC 701 or for even for a product that might resemble it. Admittedly I didn’t go through the entire listings but merely searched through those approved and still pending starting this year either under Asus, Asustek or the FCC Prefix MSQ (assigned to Asus). Of course this means that I am assuming Asus itself applied for the FCC approval. After all, given the substantial listings under those three, I would think that would be the case.

So does anyone know if the Asus Eee PC 701 has been approved by the FCC? If it has not been approved by this time, how does Asus plan to sell them in the US starting September? Isn't the timetable rather tight if Asus has not gotten approval yet?

Just wondering.
