ASUS Eee PC desktop spotted?

Referencing Electronista's article "ASUS Eee PC desktop spotted?" reader steve sent in his thoughts on the upcoming model -

"Could this be the Eee PC desktop?

I'm in two minds about this venture. If it does look this good it could easily have the same impact on the desktop market as the Eee PC 701 has had on the mini notebook market.

On the other hand though, I think people are more likely to accept that portables have less grunt. I'm not so sure how many people would accept a desktop with low performance and low storage capacity. It is possible to buy other desktops at around the $500 mark that have more powerful CPU's and 80GB+ HDD's... but do they look as slim and sexy as the E-DT?

But maybe it would be perfect as a kitchen PC for light duty, web browsing and email. A companion to the PC in the study that does all the grunt work.

I'm so confused.
