Did PC Makers Over Build In Anticipation Of Windows 7?

From Tech Trader Daily -

AMD yesterday stated that it expects a less-than-seasonal sequential increase in Q4 revenues, due in part to the the big build of PCs in anticipation of the Win 7 launch. Its comments has triggered concerns the PC industry has, in fact, built too much inventory - and that it could result in both reduced component consumption in Q4 and beyond, and lower pricing for memory, which has benefited in recent weeks from higher NAND and DRAM prices. This in turn has triggered a sell-off in memory chip and disk-drive stocks, with AMD, Intel, Nvidia, Micron, Sandisk, Smart Modular, STEC, Seagate and Western digitial posting losses.
