Microsoft bans netbooks with hybrid storage

From Bit-tech.net -

Microsoft has banned netbook manufacturers from making hybrid storage netbooks (having both SSD and hard drives) when using Windows XP Home. This is in addition to the "maximum of 1GB of memory" already enforced. As of now, it is only the MSI Wind U115 that is affected as it was already in the market. MSI has until the end of June to remove the product from the shelves.

Down with Microsoft! May they burn in the Abyss!
(Insert ugly words here.)
They deserve no less.

This is exactly why I loathe and detest micro$oft. What right do they have to order the manufactures around ??

I take immense pride in the fact I purchased my new Eeepc 900ha and without so much as booting winXP installed Crunchbang Linux on it and haven't looked back....

Well, hopefully, MSI would sell them without an OS at bargain price. That would be great for Linux users!

HI Chili Joe,

That's an interesting thought. But then they might as well put in Linux as it is free to begin with. Maybe as a token of protest...
