The new 11.1" Sony Vaio X series is just a little over half an inch thick and weighs in at an amazing 1.5 lbs - or half the weight of a MacBook Air. In addition, the Atom-based unit will most probably have a six cell battery with a 8 hours life, aside from having a carbon-fiber cover. Unfortunately, other specs are expected to average. While no price or release date has been given, chances are the VAIO brand means a minimum of $700 with a release sometime next month.
