From a post by bbloldd at the Eeeuser forum, a link to the specs of the models sold at the Taiwan launch.
Note the illustrations above the 4G Surf and 2G surf models. It seems to imply these models will be available in several colors (as shown in the retail packaging, which was featured in an earlier post).

Asus Eee PC 8G now with 8G SSD
Asus has changed the specs of the Asus Eee PC 8G, upgrading the SSD Storage from 4G to 8G. Actually, it is more of a correction, since it just does not make sense to have a model named 8G with only 4G SSD. Details for the battery were also added.

Asus Eee PC in Pastel Colors
From the Flicker account of hsufehmi -

Well, the pics above surely come as a welcome surprise after seeing photos of the zebra black-and-white model being exhibited at the HKCCF 2007.
Let's just hope the color units don't open up to a black keyboard.

More Asus Eee PC information appears
From Overclock3d -
In a post dated 7/2/07, the site is claiming they have new info on the Asus Eee by way of Tweaktown -
For those of you eagerly awaiting the release of ASUS' Eee PC, we have some interesting specifications for the unit. It's also interesting to note that these specifications weren't made public at last month's Computex. According to the source (HotHardware: cited as the original source) article the Eee PC will utilise Intel’s mobile 910 chipset and a 900MHz Dothan based Pentium M processor.
| The Eee PC has 512MB of DDR2 memory, built in 802.11g Wi-Fi and a 4GB flash based drive. Not bad for US$199 and add another $100 and you get an 8GB drive thrown in, although this seems like an expensive upgrade option to us. At 890 grams, the Eee PC can compete with many so call ultra portable notebooks in terms of weight. In terms of ports we’re looking at two USB 2.0 ports, a headphone and mic jack, a 10/100Mbit Ethernet port and a 56k modem jack on the left side. Moving to the right there are a further two USB 2.0 ports, a D-sub and a memory card slot for SD/MMC cards. The Eee PC also has a small 4 cell battery that is apparently good for about 3h of un-tethered usage. |
Further, it has been reported that the unit should be available worldwide by the middle of August.
----------
Actually nothing new here except perhaps they got some kind of confirmation?
