According to Digitimes Dell is planning to introduce a low-cost subnotebook, the Dell E Series, in August. The notebook will be manufactured by Compal Electronics with the LCD panels to be provided by either Samsung, Chi Mei Optoelectronics and possibly AU Optronics.
Dell is expected to ship 2-3 million units this year, specially since they will be priced at only US$299, US$100 cheaper than the Acer Aspire One.
