From ubergizmo -
Amazon has announced the Kindle has a hardware update that will boost battery life by 85% (with 3G on) extending usage to 7 days instead of 4. The battery life for the sleep mode remains unchanged. In addition, PDF support for the Kindle and Kindle 2 is now available and users can copy PDF files over USB and use them as is. But the support is basic - zooming is difficult, and files can't be indexed for search.
