Taiwan Netbook sales through carriers account for 50%

Per Digitimes carrier netbook 3G bundle sales reached 15,000 units in August, or 50% of total retail sales for the month. Taiwan Mobile sold 5,500, with the Acer Aspire One being its best seller. Chunghwa Telecom sold around 4,500 units about 60% of which were BenQ's U102, followed by Acer netbooks. Far EasTone Telecommunications was third at 3,500 units with HP models its bestseller.

Chunghwa however expects its netbook sales to surpass those of Taiwan Mobile and reach 100,000 units in 2010. However, netbook bundles are expected to decline 20-30% in September due to seasonal factors.
